Hi everyone! Here is my long overdue blog that I wanted to make since last year. I’m not sure how often I’ll be making posts, but knowing myself, it probably won’t be too often. Still, this is a hobby more than anything else.
My name is Andy Le. As of now I’m a 2nd year English Major at UCSB. I’m on track for graduating a year early. After graduation, I plan on pursuing a teaching degree while also professionally competing in spoken word poetry slams to become the best in the world.
I haven’t been making many IG posts this quarter. On top of that, Winter Quarter has been a complete mess. After the Thomas Fire, UCSB was forced to evacuate and postpone finals until after winter break. Consequently, Winter Quarter got a week shorter. It’s been a non-stop grind ever since. In fact, I’m actually in the middle of finals while I’m writing up this post.
During my calligraphy/IG hiatus however, I’ve been pretty productive in my poetry endeavors. In this quarter alone, I finished 5 spoken word poems. I’ve also been performing at various small open mics in Santa Barbara. I performed sets at El Centro SB, been a featured poet at SBcast, and hosted the showfor UCSB Poets’ Club. You can see a complete playlist of my performances HERE
I even included the bad ones when I was still learning how to perform. This was your cringe warning.
Well, that’s all for now. Time to continue (stu)dying.
